Thread: Ovarian cyst!! PLEASE READ!!?

Hi, I am 23 years old and i recently just found out i have a 3 cm ovarian cyst on my right ovary. I am so scared it could be cancer. My doctor told me to see a gyno. which im wating to make an apt. for. Has any one had an ovarian cyst. I am so worried. Also would this effect me from having children. Well at least i no why my periods are all wacky! Please some insight people???? thank you!!
The only time i am in pain is the first couple days of my period. And its bad I mean on a scale of 1 to 10 its a 20 ! soo much pain and cramping. After a few days pain is minimal and im good.
I should of mention i had an ultrasound and thats how they detrmined my cyst, so my family doctor would like me to see the gyno. My pap test was normal as well. Should i be concerned about cancer??

is there pain? discomfort? you would just have to go to your gyn to see whats going on with it...but from what i know about people who have cysts they are usually benin and you are given birth control to prevent and treat them...your fine. just go see your doc
