i know i get a lot of sinus infections..at the moment i don't. but everyday i wake up with a sore throat i told my doctor she said its a sinus infection. i just took a 14 day round of it and still get sore throats (but not other sinus infection symptoms) i don't know what to do. i tried gargling salt water, eating lemon and honey, saline rinse, etc. what should i do?
forgot to mention...i did get my tonsils removed.

You should get your tonsils removed.

Does the sore throat improve during the day? If so, then it is likely that you snore and sleep with your mouth open, which is irritating and drying out your throat.

I find that I get sore throats daily if I'm not getting enough sleep or if I'm getting poor sleep. I don't like to take medicine because I feel that masks my issues, so I sleep things off. If you can try to get extra sleep and drink plenty of water before you go to bed, you may also be dehydrated.

Get a second opinion, doctors can make mistakes too. I had one diagnose me with bronchitis and it turned out to be pneumonia.
Hope you have insurance though so the visit don't put a dent in the spending money.

sounds like you have allergies. (allergies can lead to sinus infections - treat the allergic - avoid the infection) You have post nasal drip during the night which irritates your throat.

If you slept upright it wouldn't happen.

try a 12 hour nasal spray at night for the next few days and see what happens.

Possibly you are breathing through your mouth at night because of your sinuses, and making your throat dry and sore.
Make sure you are hydrated before you go to bed, a glass of water a couple hours before bed will help.
And hydrate first thing when you get up in the morning.
Salt and lemon are both drying, so if dryness is the problem, or adding to it, those things will not help.

Do you have allergies? You might, to dust, or dust mite dust. Try keeping your bed linens very clean, and use some Febreeze on the mattress to keep the dust down. Rivers started doing this, an her cough at bedtime went away. And if the Febreeze works, consider buying a plastic mattress cover to keep the dust mites away from you.
And take care of your pillow. buy a new one if it is ratty/tatty.
There are over the counter medications for allergies

And if your sinuses are dripping down the back of your throat, that can cause a soreness too. Post nasal drip.
There are over the counter medications for this, but beware, some have some nasty side effects, like raising your blood pressure.

so talk to your doctor, or the office nurse, and see if doctor wants to see you again, or is willing to hand out some over the phone advice.

If its every morning only then you get better throughout the day maybe it could be allergies. I too sometimes wake up with minor to mild sore throat and stuffy nose in the mornings but throughout the day I get better. If I start getting severe symptoms like sore throat, stuffy nose and persistant cough I know I need too take an anti-allergy pill cause if I left the symptoms untreated these symptoms will lead to sinus, ear and throat infections.
