    Minimal Smoking with Pneumonia?

I was just diagnosed with Pneumonia yesterday. It isn't full blown hospital stay pneumonia, but pneumonia none the less. I'm having a really hard time not smoking. I was wondering, since I am taking anti-biotics, if I am going to face serious consequences if I smoke maybe 2 cigarettes a day. (Please no lectures on that I should quit. I know I should. It's a disgusting and stupid habit. I'm aware. I'm more looking just for an answer to the question.) Thank you!

Not being judgmental, but every cigarette you smoke will delay your recovery from pneumonia. I realise nicotine is an insidious addictive drug and kicking it is not easy, but there is no 'right' number... if you can smoke none a day you will recover faster than if you smoke 1 or 2 or 20 a day.

How much faster very much depends on you and your overall health... which also would affect how long your recovery would take if you were not a smoker.
