how long does it take for your liver to recover after a heavy drinking session?

i am a 25 year old male and i like to drink at weekends. from monday to friday i am totally alcahol free. but from friday evening until sunday evening i like to drink.
usually i will only have one real big session per weekend and the other days will just be a steady few drinks (less than 8 pints).
on the one night a week i will probably drink around 60 units or more of various drinks but usually mostly lager and vodka.
i wonder if the 5 days of no alcahol will be enough to cancel out the damge i do at the weekend?
    does anyone know?

Your liver is being damaged by all the weekend bingeing, that's for sure. It will take a few years but you will eventually start to feel the effects. You can't abuse your liver without it starting to deteriorate. Only if you stopped consuming alcohol altogether would it recover. It doesn't recover over a week of not drinking. And it won't recover while you are still guzzling alcohol. Alcohol poisoning affects the brain as well as the liver and you will develop senility, similar to Alzheimer's. You could be dead by the time you're 40 at this rate.
