    Something with her eyes?

My daughter who is 9 was at the eye doctor yesterday. He mentioned that he noted something from a year ago on her eyes. He said something like drizzles or drozels, and he said that it was something she was born with. Anyone know what he meant or what he means. My daughter has different medical conditons and I am just concerned. He told me not to be alarmed but just something they will keep an eye on during check ups.

I know a lot about the eyes, but I can't guess what the word might have been, unless it's drusen? That's not on the eyes but in them.

Anyway, you should just call the doctor and ask for the explanation again. Don't be embarrassed -- this happens all the time, and he should be happy to re-explain.

probably DRUSEN. there's optic nerve head drusen & macular drusen. if he said she was "born with it", it's probably optic nerve head drusen

macular drusen is different...usually a sign of macular degeneration:

don't panic, it's highly unlikely that a 9 year old has macular degeneration. I bet the doc was talking about optic nerve head drusen. totally benign.
