    Burst of light in my eyes?

    When i wake up in the morning, i see bursts or flashes of light when i look to the right or left with my eyes closed. Any ideas?

    the pertinent question for this kind of problem is:

    ONE EYE OR BOTH EYES?

    one eye only: COULD be a retinal problem. a little unlikely since it's "only" when you look right or left, but retinal problem cannot be ruled out. might need to see an eye doc

    both eyes: almost certainly not a retinal problem. something like pressure phosphenes or something
