    Am I short or long sighted?

    I wear glasses, but if I take them off, only things close, like my phone in hand are visible, but anything a few feet away are blurry.

    I have to take my spectacles off to use the laptop or phone.

    Am I long or short sighted??

    short sighted, that means you can see everything in short range.

    If you have to take your glasses off to use the laptop or the phone then it sounds like you need bifocals /varifocals as you aer having problems with your distance and close vision. You shouldn't need to take your glasses off to use the phone and especially not the laptop.
