    Why does eye specialist show a picture of something like a house?

    Do they check minus number by showing letters or by showing the picture
    I had been to an eye specialist
    He asked me to read the letters. But he dint ask about the picture

    it's just a target to look at while they take measurements. different instruments have different targets, some are a house, some are a hot air balloon, sometimes just a dot.

    yeah we never ask about the picture b/c:

    1) we already know what it is
    2) it doesn't matter much if you think it was clear or not

    it's just something to look at so you're looking the right way. that's it. nothing special to it
