I feel like my diagnosis is wrong?

I've been told I'm "bipolar" and to be honest, I don't think I am at all. My psychiatrist told me to go away and look up some possible illnesses that I feel I may have and report back to her. I feel she'll just ignore it and stick with her diagnosis. What I'm asking of you is to come up with any mental health disorders that match up with my "symptoms", please?

    1) In two days, I sleep a total of 4 hours (but I cant sleep, because I'm not tired, it's like... My body is, but my mind isn't?)
    2) I am angry from the moment I wake up and throw fits.
    3) The littlest noise is irritating for me and I snap.
    4) I self-harm (burning, cutting and starving myself sometimes)
    5) I haven't left my house in over 4 months.
    6) Out of the blue, I get panic attacks and I'm worried about the time and what's going to happen.
    7) I do/have thought that people could/can read my mind, that I could change the weather, feeling that zombies are about to attack and that my father was a Greek god and I was special (I still kinda' do, but that's besides the point)
    8) I remember seeing a hand reaching out towards me once, I jumped out of my skin and I felt something paranormal was happening in my house.
    9) I get so confused sometimes, I cant focus on one thing, I've got all these things popping into my head one by one and I cant answer a question without leading onto another topic.

I feel like I fit more into the ADHD/ADD or Aspergers Syndrome spectrum, personally. But, what do you think? Thank you for your help!

I think your psychiatrist went to school for a decade to not have to be second guessed by a patient.

I suggest, if you want a second opinion, that you gather it from a professional!

Sorry you are having problems, good luck.

I have 3 family members with ADHD/ADD and one with Aspergers Syndrome and NONE of them have the symptoms you have.
None of them are angry all the time, have trouble sleeping, self harm, are house bound, have panic attacks, imaging things like people reading their minds, confusion, any of that.
You may have a combination of things but most of your symptoms are very typical of being bipolar.

this second link has lots of information about being bipolar and also lists other illnesses that can mimic bipolar symptoms.
    Good luck.

Aspergers is more Anti Social where as ADD or ADHD people are more wanting to be centre of attention. Also Aspergers people generally are tunnel visioned but ADD and ADHD find it difficult to concentrate on anything.

Aspergers is also ingrained in the brain where as ADD and ADHD is more a chemical imbalance.

I found a great youtuber that is talking about his experiences of Aspergers and Tourettes their name is Charmedangels4 and I saw a video there on Aspergers which would be interesting

it is none of ADHD/ADD or Aspergers Syndrome spectrum. I say more psychosis or a psychotic disorder as you say you think people can read your mind. that is a symptom of psychosis.

Do you have highs and lows? so do you have really good highs of doing impulsive behavior (spending, going places ec) and then followed by extreme lows (depression)???

    if you do, thats bipolar.

Bipolar disorder is a mood disorder caused by chemical imbalances in the brain. In bipolar disorder a person has mood swings from depression to mania which have to last 4-7 days each to be diagnosed but generally last weeks or months at a time. I developed bipolar when I was 15 and diagnosed at 18, when I was depressed I would sleep constantly, cry, self harm, wouldn't leave bed for days, didn't eat, wash, dress, constantly felt suicidal, hopeless and worthless, withdrew myself from family and friends and stopped going to school. This lasted for 6 months. Then I switched into mania when I was constantly full of energy, didn't sleep for days and if I did I would sleep up to 3 hours only, went out every night abusing alcohol and drugs, got into meaningless relationship, had sex with strangers, spent every penny I had and even stole from my mum, shop lifted, racing thoughts, aggressive and irritable, psychotic when I would hallucinate and be delusional to the point I stabbed myself and almost my boyfriend, I was constantly doing one thing to the next and I nearly failed college. This lasted for 4 months.

I understand why you feel your diagnosis is wrong because you do not sound like you have bipolar disorder. Have a look for borderline personality disorder which is an emotional disorder not caused by chemical imbalances in the brain but how you have processed your emotions over time, it is know as being emotionally unstable. I think this might help you. Keep questioning your psychiatrist on your diagnosis and maybe get a second opinion Good luck.

I would rule out Asperger's since some of your conditions are illogical. Since nothing you have listed is curable you can only focus on the symptoms so I would start there. Look for medication that can deal with you you are experiencing regardless of label and see if that works.
