I had foot surgery exactly a week ago. My foot is wrapped up and I am not allowed to remove the dressing. They put me in an ace wrap, gauze over the stitches, and some type of gauze wrap to keep the gauze pads in place. Also the stitches are dissolvable and have steri-strips over them. How much bleeding would there be if they had burst? The blood is visible if you remove the ace wrap and just look at the gauze. I'm guessing there'd be more blood if they had opened up, but I decided to post this just in case.
