It is a Urinary Tract Infection - quite common and VERY uncomfortable. To get somewhat quick relief start drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice. However, most times you will need antibiotics to clear the infection. I have had lots of UTI's over the years and usually they give me antibiotics called Macrobid - which clear up the infection pretty quick. Good luck - hope this helps.
