    Are there any nhs dental hospitals in bedfordshire?

    Iam to be referred to a hospital for dental problems, iam 67 is the treatment free and where is the nearest hospital to luton beds.

    It depends on your referral and for what treatment. Within the hospital environment it is part of the NHS and is free, but if after the hospital treatment you require dentures or anything else then you have to go back to your dentist and pay unless you are in receipt of certain benefits.

    It will not be a dental hospital it will be within the ordinary hospital at the Oral Surgery or Maxillo Facial Unit depending on how they call it in your area. It will depend which hospital houses this facility in your area.
    A lot of treatment that cannot be carried out in the dental surgery is done in outpatients and only more complex cases go onto to day surgery or admission.

    The NHS will give you an out patients appointment within about sixteen weeks on the current targets and then it is ongoing once you are seen.
