    White spot in throat ?

So I have what looks like a big white spot full of pus in the back of my throat and my throat has been sore for like 2 days. I don't have a fever or any other symptoms except a slightly stuffy nose and a slightly sore throat.

To me, it sounds like a viral infection and possibly strep, but since I'm not really ill I think it's viral, fingers crossed its not bacterial. Anyway, I am TERRIFIED of getting throat swabs, to the point of panic attacks. Had a bad experience with a doctor and a tongue press when I was a kid. Do you think any doctor in there right mind would just blood test and not get a throat culture if I ask? Or do you think it will just go away on its own since I'm not very symptomatic?

I would get it checked. I've had strep throat before and it hurts pretty bad, but I had a fever. But it gave me white spots in my throat.

If it is strep it never goes away, your symptoms will but unless you treat it it will mek you sick again and again and has complications that you don't want to risc. But there is an alternative to the swab it is called an ASO test and they do it from your blood but ASO appears in the blood serum one week to one month after the onset of a strep infection. There is also the Streptozyme test again it is done from blood. I don't know how many doctors will want to do it since it takes longer than a fast strep test with a swab and it takes a wile to get your results witch means they have to delay treatment, but yes there are options i had the ASO test to for example. Hope it helped
