I REPOSTED THIS TO GET MORE INFO. Thank you to everyone that answers.
I'll give you a little history. Back in 2006, I ended up having a cervical ablation due to precancerous cells or cancerous...not sure because my OB Dr. really didn't give me details. I went for my yearly paps until 2008 and he told me that I don't need to have a pap for another 3 years. I saw him last year, Jan 2011 because of pelvic pain and abnormal bleeding. I spot between my periods and sometimes pass clots. He sent me for ultrasounds and there was a cyst, and after 2 ultrasounds it was gone, and he sent me on my way (over the summer)...which I told him I still have the pain and abnormal bleeding...and he totally shrugged it off.
Well, I went to my family Dr. for a yearly exam yesterday, because I think it is time for a second opinion, and he is very thorough. (It's been over year since this all started happening). During the exam when he pressed on the left upper side of my pelvic area, there was a lot of pain. When he did an internal exam he said that he saw an area in my cervix that was inflamed and bleeding. He sent me for blood work and did a pap. He did say that when he saw it he didn't think, "OMG, it's cancer....but, it does look concerning." He is supposed to call with results. (1. I am not pregnant. 2. I don't have a yeast infection or anyother. 3. I do not have HPV or never had. 4. I am not on any meds.) What can cause the bleeding on the cervix? I've never heard of that. Has this happened to you or anybody you know? What was the outcome? Just worried, and would like to kind of get a hint of whats going on, either to relieve or prepare myself for the outcome. Thank you for all of your answers. (sorry this is a little long)
I am married. I only have one sexual partner and I am a smoker, and getting ready for my quit date and the medicine my Dr. perscribed to me, because I am done with it.
are you sexualy active do u have multiple sexual partners , smoking lead to cervical cancer ...
the worst it can be is a cancer, otherwise it can just be a mild inflamation and pre-cancerous lesion, or just a benign inflamation.
